With a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Montana, Susan MacLean brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for supporting youth and families. Her career began as a high school educator in western Montana, where she developed a strong commitment to helping young people thrive. This passion grew during her time at the University of Montana, where she provided student-centered wellbeing services focused on mental and physical health, as well as academic success.
Throughout her career, Susan has collaborated with interprofessional teams in mental health and rehabilitation therapy settings, enriching her approach to care. She is particularly focused on trauma-informed care, understanding the unique challenges faced by rural and underserved populations, and practicing cultural sensitivity.
As a trained community health worker, Susan is dedicated to outreach, education, and advocacy, working to reduce barriers to care for children, families, and communities. She is committed to creating a holistic understanding of each client, addressing the full context of a child’s environment and circumstances. Susan believes in empowering clients by helping them identify strengths and resources to navigate challenges, working toward overall wellbeing and personal growth.
Susan’s approach is rooted in optimism, intentionality, and connection, fostering a strong sense of responsibility and trust in her work with clients and colleagues. She firmly believes that with the right support, everyone has the capacity to grow, find meaning, and realize their full potential.
Outside of her professional life, Susan treasures her time with her children, partner, and extended family. She enjoys meeting new people, reading, gardening, yoga, fitness, outdoor adventures in any season, exploring new places, and is proud to call the beautiful Missoula Valley her home.
